Sunday the 26th of February saw me performing 2 childrens birthday party magic shows.
My first show was for 2 twins in Port Coquitlam. The twins were both 6 years old and very cute. You know it’s funny, even though I perform at many company parties and corporate events I still love doing the childrens party shows. There is just something about performing for lots of happy, loud kids that is really fun I guess I am still a BIG kid at heart!
After my show in PoCo it was a hop skip and a jump to Burnaby for my second show.
Even though the second show was really supposed to be a kids magic show the audience consisted of only 3 children and about 15 adults. This meant changing my show a little on the fly to accommodate the adults and make it fun for them too. Changing my show on the fly is not a problem for me as I am very versatile and have years and years of performing experience under my belt!
The second show went really well and was a lot of fun. Thanks everyone for a really fun Sunday full of great magic shows!
Saturday was a relaxing day for me which is very rare for me as most Saturdays are usually jam packed with shows. Still, I made the most of it + my little puppy came out of surgery on saturday morning so I got to spend some quality time with him, poor little guy.
After a whole day of relaxing and playing with the puppy I got myself ready and headed out to Pitt Meadows for some 60th birthday party entertainment.
The party took place at a private residence in Pitt Meadows and was for a lovely young lady who was turning 60. I got booked to perform some roving magic for Fay and all her friends and family. I love doing close up magic/strolling magic and had a lot of fun with the lively group.
On a side note, Jeff and Fay are off to Thailand and China soon. Have a great time you two. I am more than a little jealous

I just spent the past 5 days in a little seaside town called Blackpool in the UK. You may be wondering why I made the long trip to the UK for only 5 days?
My trip was to attend the Blackpool Magic Convention, the world’s BIGGEST Magic Convention!
Every year 3000 magicians from all over the world travel to this little seaside town to gather, share ideas & pull rabbits out of hats (ok, that last part is not true).
This was my second year being invited to the convention. I performed for the whole time I was there, my job for the weekend was to fool the magicians, not an easy task! Needless to say I fooled them
I saw some great acts, met great friends, old and new and had a wonderful time (even if I did almost get blown over by the wind out there!)
I hope to travel back to Blackpool again soon but for now I am back in Canada and looking forward to entertaining again.

Today I performed 2 x 1 hour shows at one of my favorite little preschools in BC, Kerrisdale Little Owls Preschool.
I have been performing shows for the little pint sized kids at Little Owls for more years than I can remember. Sandra, Rebecca and the rest of the staff at Little Owls always make me feel SO welcome. I always feel just like a part of the family
The children at this preschool are always very well behaved and such a delight to perform for. I really hope that I get to perform for the Kerrisdale Little Owls for years to come.
Today I had two shows.
My first show was at the award winning Hollyburn Country Club in West Vancouver. The club is situated at 950 Cross Creek Road. It’s an amazing facility and recently underwent a $15 million expansion. It was certainly not my first time at this fantastic venue and I am sure it won’t be my last.
Thank you to all of the staff at Hollyburn for making my visit so pleasant Also a BIG thank you to the Gregorian family for inviting me to perform for such a great mixture of children and adults, it was a hoot!
After my show at Hollyburn it was a quick race home to Port Coquitlam (at the speed limit of course) to pick up my little puppy Yogi for some much needed quality time with his dad (me ) before my next show.
After the puppy time it was off to my second magic show of the day at a home in Surrey. The Ellis family and all of their friends made me feel very very welcome and I had a GREAT time entertaining them and their two lovely son’s Colton and Ethan. This party was so much fun and I have to say that little Ethan who was turning 5 was hilarious. He chose to wait until the very end of the show to come up and help Good on you Ethan!

It was a Saturday today and I just had the one show which is very rare for me but the rest was very much appreciated as it seems I am always on the go these days!
My show in Maple Ridge was at a private residence and I had a really GREAT time!
My clients home was beautiful to say the least. Today I was back performing in West Vancouver around the Rockridge area.
Today’s party was for a group of 12 year old boys. Many people often ask me if I perform for this age group and especially for boys in this age group?
I perform for all age groups from 1 to 101. The trick is to gear your show to the audience you are performing for. This is easier said than done of course. Any professional entertainer should take his audiences age group into account and change the show accordingly! This skill comes with time and experience. I have been in the business of performing magic shows and entertaining people all over the world for more than 20 years so reading my audience and adjusting accordingly comes very easily.
Make sure when booking entertainment that you book someone who takes your audiences age into account. It’s very important, especially when it comes to performing for children of any age
