This past few months seems to have been the time of 50th birthday parties. I don’t think I have performed at this many 50th birthday parties ever as I have in the past few months!
On the evening of the 26th of November I traveled to the Eagles Hall in Maple Ridge to perform for yet another 50th birthday party and what a great evening it was. They had a band, an Elvis impersonator, Burlesque Dancers and…you guessed it, yours truly!
Thanks again to Ian Brown and his lovely wife Anelma who’s 50th it was. You guys were great fun and I had a great time!
After performing at Harold’s Bar and Bistro on the 19th of November it was a surprise to be back at the Sheraton 2 days later. I have performed at the Sheraton Vancouver Airport Hotel quite a lot over the years and it’s always a fun place to perform and a very nice hotel to boot.
The 21st of November had me performing at the annual BC Non-Profit Housing Association event.
I was booked to perform my 30 minute stand up comedy magic show on the main stage as part of the evenings festivities.
Thanks again to Autumn O’Brien Ruinat and all of the staff who helped to make the evening a great success!!
Saturday the 19th of November saw me at Harold’s Bistro and Bar which is located in the Sheraton Vancouver Airport Hotel in Richmond, BC.
I was booked by Cris Schandl and his staff at Sonic Flower Entertainment to perform for a 50th birthday celebration. I did two hours of strolling close up magic and had a lot of fun! At the end of my set I had to produce airline tickets for the birthday girl for her surprise trip to Las Vegas the next day! Her face was priceless!!!
All the 4′s….44! That reminded me of my days as a youngster in the bingo halls of the old British seaside towns…..ahhhh, those were the days!
The 13th of November saw me busy with 4th birthday parties for some strange reason. 1 of the parties was in Burnaby for a new client and the second party was in Vancouver for a little boy whose birthday I did last year.
I love performing at all types of special events but 4 year old’s are really fun. They just want to be silly, laugh, giggle and have a good time so 2 x 4 year old birthdays in one day was a real tonic
After a few days of much needed rest I was back to performing on the 11th of November.
I got booked to perform for a 50th birthday bash at one of my favorite restaurants on the North Shore “Le Bistro chez michel“
I have performed for brothers Philippe and Michel Segur at their fine restaurant before, most recently New Years Eve of 2009, so it was nice to go back and visit with them again after such a long time. The birthday girl who’s 50th birthday party it was had a great time and so did the group of ladies at her party. It’s always a real pleasure to perform for a bunch of ladies
Call me old-fashioned!
On the same day I also performed my stand up comedy magic show for a 16th birthday party in Richmond. Talk about 2 very different shows and age groups in the same day, thus once again displaying my unique versatility with audiences of all ages!
The 6th of November (the day after the Carpenter Real Estate event) saw me back on the North Shore for a private party at St. David’s United Church Hall.
The audience of about 50 children and 30 adults loved the show (how could they not
..). I performed my 45 minute stand up comedy magic show followed by balloon twisting for the entire group of 50 children. My hands needed cooling down after that I tell you. I am sure I saw smoke coming from my fingertips!
The same day also saw me performing for my second year with Jen Hillman and her staff at Burnaby Village Museum on behalf of the Adoptive Families Association of BC. I was there performing as my alter ego The Cool Balloon Guy. We all had great fun!
I have performed for Scott Carpenter and the staff at the Carpenter Real Esate Group for the past three years now and it’s always great fun.

I look forward to seeing everyone at the Carpenter Real Estate Group again next year!
On the 4th of November I was invited to perform for the son of Christine Loy from Yummy Thingy cakes. Just take a look at the birthday cake she created for her son’s birthday. I think it’s pretty spectacular! I see a lot of cakes at private parties as you can imagine but Christine’s cakes really take it to the next level! You can follow Christine on Twitter at http://twitter.com/YummyThingy. Find out more info there too about Christine and her cakes.
The party took place at Pin Pin Restaurant in Vancouver. Pin Pin serves up an incredible combination of Filipino-Chinese cuisine that will make your mouth water. Check them out online by clicking here. Pay them a visit and tell them MagicShow2Go sent you!
I have been performing for Standadrd Life Plc in the lower mainland for a very very long time. I get booked every year at Christmas to perform in their three main buildings two of which are downtown Vancouver and one in Burnaby.
Occasionally I get brought in to perform for other events throughout the year too.
On The 1st of November I was invited to their downtown location to perform close-up magic at a brokers luncheon. The setting, a vacant floor that was being shown to brokers as a rental opportunity to a future corporate client.
It was a little strange being in a completely empty office space in downtown Vancouver that spanned an entire floor. I had tons of fun performing for the brokers though and they loved the magic.
Thanks again to everyone at Standard Life for your continued support of my show. You are like family!!
